What is openarko
Local-first desktop workspace
Keep conversation and context anchored to your local repositories, not bound to remote clouds.
Single daemon, single main window
One lightweight daemon and one desktop window per machine; delivered as designed.
Add and remove local projects
Bring existing directories. Removing a project unbinds the UI without touching source or history on disk.
Project-scoped Solo sessions
Independent streaming chat history per project with typewriter tokens and rendered code blocks.
Local skill discovery
Detects and exposes available skill packs from ~/.agents/skills and ~/.codex/skills.
Bilingual UI and dual themes
Full English and Simplified Chinese interfaces with refined light and dark theme switching.
Google sign-in for preview auth
Server-backed session validation for invited developers without exposing credentials client-side.
local-first
Local-First & Data Boundaries
Project indexes and session histories remain on your local machine. When calling third-party models, context is sent to the configured provider; local storage does not imply inference stays on-device.
Delivered Core Capabilities
No unverified marketing claims. Every capability reflects delivered desktop functionality.

Based on actual macOS Apple Silicon builds, featuring sidebar projects, streaming chat, and skill tooling.
Local project index & workspace management
Attach local directories and pick active projects. Removing only detaches from the view while source code and chat logs remain intact.
Project-scoped Solo streaming chat
Conversations are isolated per project with realtime typewriter streaming and syntax-highlighted code blocks, managed by the daemon.
Local skill discovery & tooling
Scans ~/.agents/skills and ~/.codex/skills to list discovered skill packages and metadata, ready for developer extensions.
Dual-theme design & bilingual support
Seamless switching between English and Simplified Chinese, with crafted light and dark themes tailored for long development sessions.
Cross-Platform Status
Objective status per platform, strictly distinguishing verified builds from architectural targets.
Core flows verified end-to-end in development environments. macOS 14+ recommended.
Designed according to cross-platform standards; real-device validation currently in progress.
